Thirsty Thursday: Low Cal Energy Boost

Fast and delicious way to get vitamins & minerals.

All you need is a blender and the following ingredients:

  • Banana frozen(or fresh, see below)
  • 1/2 cup frozen mango(or fresh I buy fresh and freeze my fruits ahead of time so they don't go bad)
  • Handful of spinach
  • Ice - *Tip: if you freeze your fruit you don't have to add ice, the consistency will remain creamy and smoothie-like)
  • Water-add just enough to blend
Forget dehydrating morning coffees and lattes. Great for weight loss, supporting the immune system, added protein and an energy boost to your morning. Use bananas as a base(masks spinach flavor) and any other fruit of choice.

Can I add yogurt or milk ? Dairy does not combine well with fruit and causes fermentation, yeast, digestive issues, and will not aid in weight loss. Combine with water or for added Vitamin C you can mix in a cup of orange juice.

Not concerned about weightloss? Dairy combination still causes digestive issues, I'd avoid it and just enjoy the energy boost!

What if I'm in a rush? Do what I do and make it the night before. Your neighbors will be thankful to not hear a blender at 6am, and the smoothie will last in the fridge up to 24 hours. Need more time?-Freeze them for up to a week.

How many calories are in this smoothie? It depends on the quanities used. But it is MUCH less than a frappucino! =)

Don't let the color fool you, it's sweet and delicious!

  1. Tried this yesterday you can't taste the spinach just lots of mango yum!

  2. Thanks for taking the time to comment Jaylin! The bananas mask the taste :)

Let me know what you think here =)
