Simple Ways to Relax

Pin It I wanted to share some simple things we can do to lift our moods on days you may be feeling down. These take little to no time at all and don't cost a thing, so when you need a boost in spirits try these:

  • Take a shower. Wash the bad day away. Years ago I made it a habit to shower with a few candles lit, it is so incedibly relaxing, and conserves energy! 
  • Eat healthy. Fat, & junk food filled foods make us tired and lazy. Opt for a smoothie, some fruit, or granola to keep your body fueled.
  • Get moving. Exercise in the privacy of your home or take a quick walk. You can even get light exercise from gardening, and cleaning.
  • Get some sun/fresh air. This goes with the above. I like to go in my backyard for a few moments, sweep, check on the plants, etc. I'm also a huge fan of natural light. I'm always saying that gloomy days make me exhausted so on sunny days I make sure to open the blinds and let the light in, it instantly brightens my spirits.
  • Spend the afternoon baking. This works for me, I've included one of my dishes below. =)

  • Browse your favorite websites. Of course this is one my favs lol.
  • Take a deep breath. Calm yourself down and de-stress.
  • Fill a room with fresh flowers. Whenever I have flowers I'm happy each time I look at them, they add some color and brighten up the room.
  • Play with your pet. They love you unconditionally, show them the same.
